Hugh Scott Mellor, 54, of Brighton, Massachusetts, was, according to the *Record-Eagle* and the *Chicago Tribune,* the owner and president of Reservoir Realty, Inc., a real estate holding company. Boston-area police arrested him and the industrialist [Richard C. Jacobs](/people/richard-c-jacobs/) at the request of Louisiana authorities; both were charged with conspiracy to commit homosexual rape and aggravated crimes against nature in the case of [New Orleans](/places/new-orleans/) Boy Scout [Troop 137](/organizations/troop-137/), organized by [Richard Halvorsen](/people/richard-halvorsen/) and [Raymond Woodall](/people/raymond-woodall/). He was described in May 1977 as a millionaire, one of nineteen men charged in the case.[^1]
